The order has been placed by an unnamed Japanese shipowner and is for an unspecified number of units.
The ships will be built at Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (Cebu) the Japanese shipbuilder’s yard in the Philippines for delivery by the end of 2017.
The Kenji Kawano-led shipbuilder developed the TESS38 design in November 2014, with sales activities starting at the end of last year.
