The company said it had bought the 30,000–dwt Belmeken (built 2010) for delivery in Shanghai.
The vessel was bareboat chartered by Cosco Bulk as the Fu An Hai and owned by Pearl Fortune Trading.
In addition it has declared options for ships five and six in its series of 42,300-dwt bulkers on order at Hongqiang Shipyard in China.
And it said it is also preparing the purchase of another vessel with similar features to Belmeken.
