Viet Nam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) is to ramp up domestic coal shipments from next year through to 2020.
It will start with shipments of between 2m and 3m tonnes in 2016, potentially rising to 18m tonnes to 20m tonnes within four years.
The company, which also operates cargo vessels, said ships will load at the Cua Ong Coal Company facility in Quang Ninh province, the VNS news agency said.
