Scorpio Bulkers has sold off a series of six capesize bulk carriers in a deal priced at $227m.
New York-listed Scorpio confirmed the sale at the close of US trading today following a flurry of speculation in the sale-and-purchase market on Wednesday.
In a statement Scorpio said the transaction involved four newbuildings and a pair of vessels delivered this year.
The expected sale had caused a wave of excitement in the market today, with rumours and counter rumours regarding both the number of ships and the price they had secured.
