Two of the world’s most prominent shipowners have split a quintet of modern capesize vessels sold off by Scorpio Bulkers over Christmas.
John Fredriksen has taken two of the ships and John Angelicoussis three at a time when asset prices continue to fall.
Well-placed sources say Fredriksen has bought a pair of 180,000-dwt newbuildings nearing completion at Korea's Daehan Shipbuilding at $34m each.
