Turkish owner GSD Marin has agreed to buy a handysize built in 2013.
In a statement, the company said it was setting up a subsidiary in Malta to own the vessel, which it did not name.
The 32,500-dwt ship was built at China's Jiangmen Nanyang Engineering.
The only vessels matching this specification are the Grindrod pair IVS Merlion and IVS Raffles.
GSD has four modern bulkers in service.
