Diana Shipping continues to lock its panamax bulkers into period deals at rates that reflect the downturn in the dry cargo market.

The Greek owner has secured 11 to 14 months of employment for the 77,525-dwt Crystalia (built 2014).

SwissMarine Services is paying $6,250 per day for the vessel, which was previously hired by Glencore at $9,000.

Starting from tomorrow, Diana expects to generate revenues in excess of $2m for the minimum charter period.
