Failed Singapore bulker owner Mercator Lines has won an extension to prepare its financial results as it cannot afford an accountant.

The company has been granted an extra six months by the stock exchange to file its third quarter and annual results to 31 March 2016.

Judicial manager Yit Chee Wah said the company has “insufficient funds to hire an accountant to prepare the financial statements as well as to engage auditors to assist the accountant with the preparation of the financial statements.”
