Shipping is facing some of the toughest conditions since the global financial crisis struck in 2008, Clarksons says.

The world’s largest shipbroker explained in its latest shipping market outlook that the cross-sector Clarksea Index, launched in 1990, hit an all-time low of $7,073 per day in August.

“Conditions in the bulker market remain difficult, and although some improvement has been evident in recent months, the outlook remains challenging,” the report said.
