Greece's Top Ships has taken a stake in an MR tanker newbuilding ordered by the family of its CEO Evangelos Pistiolis.
The company said it had bought 40% of a company Eco Seven from Malibu Shipmanagement, owned by a Pistiolis family trust.
The deal cost it $6.5m.
Eco Seven is a party to a shipbuilding contract with Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in Korea for one 50,000-dwt product/chemical tanker, expected to be delivered at the end of this month.
