Clarksons has reported a strong full year result backed by a higher dividend despite seeing a weak market eating into its bottom line.
The world’s largest shipbroker booked an underlying profit of £44.8m in 2016, down from £50.5m 12 months earlier.
It said the slide reflected significantly lower freight rates and asset values, offset by more transactions, increased market share and a strong US dollar.
