Korea's DSME has filed for court approval of its latest KRW 2.9 trillion ($2.6bn) bail-out plan.

The shipbuilder lodged a petition with Changwon district court on Thursday to rubber-stamp the vital restructuring deal which last week won backing from bondholders including the National Pension Service.

The court could approve the deal within two weeks, allowing DSME to bank the fresh financing from creditors led by Korea Development Bank (KDB), the Yonhap news agency reported.
