Export Credit Norway (ECN) is offering shipowners financing to retrofit vessels with kit bought from domestic suppliers.
The export credit agency said it will provide cash for ballast water and exhaust gas work.
It has assembled a specialised team to cater to a potential market of 60,000 vessels worldwide that will need to retrofit scrubber systems by 2020 and ballast water treatment systems by 2021.
