Russian shipbuilder Baltiysky Zavod is borrowing RUB 8bn ($141m) from Sberbank to finance a new nuclear icebreaker.

The yard, part of state holding company United Shipbuilding Corporation, said the credit line will help it build a vessel called Arktika, according to the Prime news agency.

The loan matures on 31 December, 2019.

The vessel will be fitted with a 175-megawatt double-reactor nuclear power unit.
