Former Jefferies investment banker Hal Malone has left the Navig8 group to head the shipping operations of WL Ross & Co, the private equity firm founded by current US commerce secretary Wilbur L Ross.
Malone most recently has served as chief strategic officer with Navig8, which bills itself as the world’s largest independent pool operator and commercial manager.
He moves into the business left behind by Ross, the billionaire “King of Bankruptcy,” when he stepped into government service as the chief trade officer for US president Donald J Trump.
