AP Moller-Maersk division Svitzer has won a long-term contract for five tugs serving an Excelerate Energy terminal in Bangladesh.

The deal, which will employ both newbuildings and existing vessels, will run for up to 20 years, Svitzer said in a statement on Friday.

Svitzer executive Alan Bradley says the contract is a vote of confidence from Excelerate.

“The fifteen-year contract with a five-year option signals a confidence in Svitzer’s ability to deliver on a Greenfield project and to meet the challenges of service provision that satisfy the demanding project timeline,” he added.
