On election night on Monday, national broadcaster NRK’s signal 9pm prognosis put the ruling “blue blue” coalition on 89 mandates out of 169 in total in the Norwegian parliament, with the opposition block on 80.

Any side requires 85 mandates to form a majority in parliament.

The right block, led by prime minister Erna Solberg of the Conservatives, includes Siv Jensen's Progress Party supported by the Liberals and Christian Democrats.
