Profit almost tripled last year at Paal Woxen Caspersen's investment company, Sjoinvest.

The Sjoinvest portfolio consists of investments in stocks, property and shipping. While its maritime interests have been reduced, the company still has stakes in several gas carriers in the Inge Steensland (Solvang) fleet.

Pre-tax profit totalled NOK 31m ($3.8m) last year, up from NOK 11m in 2015.

Together with partner John Hatleskog, Caspersen ran gas-carrier company Havtor, which was sold in 1995 to Bergesen DY (now BW LPG), giving the duo a combined profit of NOK 500m.
