Hong Kong has won the right to host the first annual summit of the new Global Maritime Forum, which will take place over two days in early October.

Attracting the successor organisation to the Danish Maritime Forum is a coup for the autonomous Chinese territory as it attempts to reinforce its position as a major shipping industry hub against fierce regional competition.
