The European Commission has approved a vital EUR 96m ($117m) loan guarantee from Croatia's government for shipbuilder Uljanik Group.
It said the money fell within state aid rules and would prevent the yard from going out of business.
"The measure will allow the company to meet urgent liquidity needs while preparing a restructuring plan, whilst competition distortions are limited," it added.
