Former ABM AMRO exec Ruut Meijer has joined Amsterdam Trade Bank (ATB) as a member of its supervisory board.

The shipping lender said Meijer brings "significant experience in corporate and merchant banking, both domestically and internationally."

He started with ABN AMRO in 1986, rising to become senior managing director of corporate banking, responsible for 2,500 employees across Europe.

Ron Emerson, chairman of the supervisory board, said: “My colleagues and I are delighted to welcome Ruut on board.
