New York-listed Navios Acquisition says the 50,000-dwt
Navios Capella has been taken for one year with an option for a second.
It does not name the charterer, which it describes as a
high-quality counter-party.
Navios Acquisition says the ship will collect $13,825
daily from the firm year of the new contract, which will begin when the vessel
is delivered in the second quarter of this year.
If the option is taken up the rate will increase to
$14,813 daily.
Core operating profit from the fresh deal will come in at
$2.7m.
The contract comes to light only a couple of weeks after
Navios signed a three-year pact for the 50,000 Nave Bellatrix.
The charter was priced at $13,331 daily with a
profit share also included.
Navios Acquisition has a further four MR
newbuildings on its books for delivery this year and next.
