Freeport to spur stocks

On Friday the US Department ofEnergy (DoE) signed off a preliminary export license for the Freeport LNGproject in Texas.

“We see the first approvalfor US LNG exports in two years as a positive catalyst for listed LNG companieswith Golar LNG, GasLog and Awilco LNG being the main beneficiaries,” said ErikNikolai Stavseth of Arctic Securities.

Freeport already hadapproval to export volumes to countries without an FTA, but Friday’s licensevictory was seen as more crucial to move ahead with the liquefaction project.
