The firm earlier had the project name Tankers Inc and is led by the former Torm director Mikael Skov.

Hafnia’s shares will initially be traded on OTC list in Oslo, but later transferred either to the Oslo Stock Exchange or to Nasdaq.

Barclays, Blackstone, Tufton and J Lauritzen are understood already to have injected $190m to the company.

The company will initially have a fleet of 27 products tankers, of which 19 already are trading plus eight eco friendly newbuildings.

As we report in this week’s printed edition of TradeWinds, an OTC listing for a Hafnia and Tankers Inc vehicle is rumoured to be the first step in a takeover of the J Lauritzen products tanker fleet which was put up for sale this summer.
