Costamare chief financial officer Greg Zikos says advanced discussions are taking place for funding of the 14,000-teu newbuildings.
He did not reveal which banks will be involved, when discussing the matter on a conference call.
The Samsung Heavy Industries newbuildings were contracted in January against long term charters with Evergreen.
Costamare, which has nine newbuildings in its joint venture with York, paid $116m for each of the five vessels.
