Nokta leaving, GHS confirms

Global Hunter Securities (GHS) has confirmed a TradeWinds report that top analyst Omar Nokta is leaving the firm "to pursue other opportunities," but he will stay on for a few months as GHS seeks his successor.

Global's press release this morning comes one day after TradeWinds reported that Nokta was to leave the New Orleans-based investment bank after a little more than a year on the job.

Today's announcement featured conciliatory statements from both sides.

“I have sincerely enjoyed my time at GHS,” Nokta said in a statement. “I have been and continue to be impressed with the firm and its people. I believe GHS is very well positioned for continued growth."

Global president Ed Lainfiesta added,  "Omar has been a great analyst for GHS and while we are saddened to see him go, we wish him all the best as he pursues his career in the sector he is clearly passionate about."

Nokta came to GHS last April after nine years at New York boutique bank Dahlman Rose, where he was an original employee of the Simon Rose-led startup from 2004. Nokta said at the time that GHS had been recruiting him for a long time.
