Tesoro has signed up the 115,000-dwt FSL Shanghai (built 2007) on a one-year deal that will claw in revenue of $5.7m, a statement said.

The owner explains the deal marks a $1.6m rise over the previous annual cheque it collected for the ship.

“The increased rate reflects an improvement in the aframax charter market but more importantly, an improvement in the operation of the vessel, its vetting status and FSL Trust Management eliminating transaction costs through using its network to take a more direct approach in securing contracts,” the company told investors.
