DVB Bank has again raided Deutsche Bank for a top shipping man.

Deutsche Shipping Asia boss Felix Ulbricht has been recruited to head up DVB’s container, car carrier, intermodal and ferry business.

Ulbricht’s hire comes a little over a year after former Deutsche Shipping boss Ralf Bedranowsky made the same swap to replace the retiring Dagfinn Lunde at DVB.

Bedranowsky said in a statement issued this morning: "The shipping industry remains an attractive market for DVB, and a market where we want to further expand our outstanding position and focused expertise.

“With Felix Ulbricht, we will strengthen our management team with an internationally-renowned shipping finance expert who also brings with him many years of extensive experience in Corporate Finance.

“This combination of expertise is important to our clients, and will help us to remain a sought-after partner to the global shipping industry."

Ulbricht will take up his new post today having spent the past six years heading Deutsche’s Asian shipping wing. Prior to that he worked for the bank with clients in the USA, Turkey and Germany.
