The boxship company said earlier this month it was trying to find a way of retaining German and European seafarers for less money, but could re-flag its ships from Germany if a solution was not found by the end of the year.
It argued the current model was no longer “economically feasible”.
NSB has 500 European crew on its books and 42 boxships registered domestically.
