While few were surprised when Michael Webber of Wells Fargo Securities alerted clients that he would no longer track the operator’s Nasdaq-quoted stock some see the move as a “notable development” in that it symbolises the “end of an era”.

“Webber was one of the last analysts following Eagle Bulk,” said one Wall Street peer. “Suspensions happen when issuers seek bankruptcy but Webber’s suspension really marks the closing of a chapter, the end of an era in a sense.”
