HCI Hammonia loss jumps

Germany’s HCI Hammonia has recorded a sharp rise in its first-half deficit due to a fleet write-down.

The containership owner said it lost EUR 69m ($90.6m) on a net basis, compared to EUR 17m in the same period of the previous year.

Revenue dipped to EUR 27m against EUR 31m.

And it logged an impairment of EUR 68m because of the write-down.
