Tasneef will be responsible for 11 UAE-flagged vessels, three of which have already been surveyed.
Khamis Juma Buamim, Drydocks’ chairman, said the contract reflected various positive outcomes for both parties and opened new venues for future collaboration.
“National classification helps in raising the UAE flag high above and increasing the carrying capacity of the ships,” he added.
Rashed Al Hebsi, chief executive for Tasneef, said: “We will issue the compulsory certificates that conform to international standards required to guarantee the safety of the ship’s body, engine and crew.”
