The country’s shipping minister Nitin Gadkari announced the package for development and modernisation of the 42-year-old plant.
About INR 12bn will go on a new drydock.
Another INR 15bn is earmarked to build the country’s first LNG carrier, believed to be part of a tender for LNG buyer Gail (India).
The yard will also build dredgers.
