Former Global Hunter Securities man Nokta was known to be Clarksons bound for some time but his exact position has been unclear.
Today Clarksons revealed Nokta has been named managing director of Shipping Research and will work out of New York.
He will take over coverage of listed companies from Urs Dur, who has left his shipping analyst’s duties to return to the owner’s ranks as chief financial officer for sister companies TBS and Valhalla.
