The Greek containership company and existing private equity partner York Capital will be among the leading shareholders in Costamare Partners, an SEC filing which revealed the plan said.
It will look to buy an initial fleet of four vessels from Costamare and will have options on a number of other ships, including nine newbuildings the partners have placed.
Costamare Partners has yet to reveal how much it will look to raise in an offering supported by Morgan Stanley, Barclays, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, Credit Suisse and JP Morgan.
