The trader has fixed the 177,800-dwt Christina J (built 2010) on a four to seven month charter, the Baltic Exchange says.
A rate of $15,000 daily has been placed on the charter, which sees SwissMarine relet the vessel from Cargill.
The rate compares with the $11,000 daily available in the spot market right now.
Capesize rates have fallen on each of the first three trading sessions of the quarter, not helped by holidays in China.
