The company wants the ministry of transport to allow it to sell the structure because it owes VND 27bn ($1.28m) in anchoring fees to Go Dau port and would need to spend VND 50bn on repairs, the Toan Viet news agency reported.
A previous bid to sell the dock was not approved because it was evidence in the case of former chairman Duong Chi Dung and ex-general director Mai Van Phuc, who were found guilty last year of embezzling VND 10bn ($474,000) each, as well as economic mismanagement as the company nearly collapsed under its debt mountain.
