The company, which also offers ship design and maintenance services, said net profit to 30 September was EUR 231m ($292m), from EUR 246m in the same period of 2013, due to higher financial costs.

Revenue was stable at EUR 3.2bn.

A total of 1,395 new vessels were ordered worldwide in the period, up from 1,341 last year, it said.

Newbuilding prices were under pressure, it added, and traditional vessel markets saw slow ordering rates and weak freight earnings.
