Bloomberg cited ship finance head Oliver Faak as saying the Hanover bank has a strategy for its distressed portfolio and would not rely on a recovery in container shipping markets.

The lender had EUR 16.2bn ($20.14bn) of marine loans at the end of June.

TradeWinds reported in September that it had put the brakes on the sale of a fleet of 14 modern bulkers.
