Its net profit was $1.08bn in the year to 30 September, down 50% after it offloaded part of Puma Energy at the end of last year and took it off the balance sheet.

Revenue in the 12 months to 30 September was $127.6bn, down 0.4%.

Its chartering desk handled more than 2,350 shipping fixtures in the period, up from more than 2,300 in 2013.
