Italy’s Cambiaso Risso Marine and Norway’s Henschien Insurance Services said the Italian company would hold a majority stake in the combined operation, with four senior managers at its partner also owning some of the combined entity.
Henschien will continue under its own name in Bergen, with Petter Meyer as the new managing director.
The Norwegian broker, founded in 1974 by Hans-Petter Henschien, had a premium turnover of $90m in 2013, of which $60m was marine.
