The bulker and tanker owner said net profit for the period was JPY 816m ($7m) from JPY 538m.
Operating profit more than tripled at JPY 309m compared to JPY 91m.
Revenue climbed 22.8% to JPY 5.8bn.
The latest results have led the company to raise its full year profit forecast.
It now guides for net income of JPY 730m, up from the previous forecast of JPY 700m and higher than last year’s profit of JPY 516m.
