Net income for 2014 stood at $13.6m compared to $15.6m in 2013.
It came on the back of $240.2m operating revenue, which was lower than $275.8m in the year prior.
AKPS has an order backlog exceeding $1bn with delivery dates through 2018.
Customers with ongoing orders at the Jones Act shipbuilder are SeaRiver, Crowley, Philly Tankers and Matson.
Steinar Nerbovik, who took over as a president and CEO of AKPS last November, said in a letter to shareholders: “Due to the strong interest, we are confident the two options (Hulls 027 and 028) will become firm contracts in 2015.”
