Only a few days after raking in NOK 1bn ($127m) from a successful visit to the Norwegian bond market, Ocean Yield has found the cash to convert the 10,900-dwt Aker Wayfarer (built 2010).
The vessel, which is on bareboat charter to AKOFS Wayfarer until 2027, will be turned into a deepwater subsea equipment support vessel after a conversion project worth $90m.
