The Japanese yard said net income for the 12 months to the end of December was JPY 14.65bn ($122m) compared to JPY 12.69bn in 2013.

Revenue increased to JPY 135.6bn, up from JPY 124.56bn in the corresponding period.

Namura bought Sasebo Heavy Industries last year and has been working to integrate the firms.

According to Clarksons, it is currently building 60 vessels, most of which are bulkers.
