Another Australian crew is refusing to leave a bulker in the latest row over cheaper foreign seafarers.
The Age daily reported that 16 men on the 50,000–dwt CSL Melbourne (built 2002) are protesting in Newcastle, after claiming owner CSL plans to send the ship to Singapore to replace them.
The vessel will be switched from domestic work for a Rio Tinto subsidiary to international routes.
