Kuala Lumpa-listed Boustead Heavy Industries has struggled to remain profitable keeping the black ink flowing with a tax benefit.
Profit fell to MYR 1.2m ($380,000) in the third quarter compared to MYR 30.3m positive in the corresponding quarter a year ago.
Without the tax gain, pre-tax results registered a MYR 5.3m loss.
Revenue was also weaker, sliding down to MYR 150m in the quarter from MYR 228m a year earlier.
