Atlantic, Gulf and Pacific Co (AG&P) has launched a new ultra-shallow draft LNG carrier (LNGC) design targeted at Southeast Asia’s stranded power markets.

The Philippines-based company says the 4,000 to 8,000-cbm units are designed to be capable of accessing rivers and shallow harbors with a draft of only two meters.

“This LNC design will serve as a ‘work horse’ for near shore LNG milk-run deliveries to locations that have limited access including shallow rivers and restricted harbors with low water depth,” AG&P said in a statement.
