Ship charterers for Russia’s Yamal LNG project are speaking to owners building a fleet of ice-breaking LNG carriers about whether it is necessary for their vessels to undergo ice trials before starting work lifting cargoes in the Arctic.

Those close to Novatek-led Yamal LNG say “project execution has proved quite good”, with the first gas due to be received in the plant’s number one liquefaction train next month.
