First Yamal LNG ship lines up for NSR spot voyage

SCF Group (Sovcomflot)’s pioneering LNG carrier newbuilding, the Christophe de Margerie, is scheduled to ship a spot cargo to Asia via the Northern Sea Route (NSR) next month.

TradeWinds understands the 172,600-cbm ice-breaking vessel, the first of 15 specialised ships to be delivered for Russia’s soon-to-start Yamal LNG project, is due to load a cargo for Total from Statoil’s Snohvit LNG plant in Hammerfest, Norway, at the weekend.
